Not to mention a lot of retail jobs make you take a fucking 200-question personality test.
I applied at a craft store and one of the questions was “rate your faith in humanity on a 1-5 scale.”
I have had these conversations with my white dad. He has used the words ‘hit the bricks’ and was a homeowner at 24. He won’t cover my student loans even if I end up being homeless as a result of their recall, because he is teaching me ‘responsibility’ all while he uses his ‘well earned’ retirement funds to travel to poor countries that require the tourist dollars of people like him to function because the economy that funded his retirement also essentially de-funded (exhausted) their natural resource and administrative/government wealth.
